Recently, I sang a wonderful composition of "Vidhyadharan master" set in the Raga "Saraswati". "Gireesh Puthencherry" the famous lyricist of Malayalam Cinema has effectively managed to portray "Guruvayur Keshavan" the legendary elephant with expressive words and imagination! The serial is being telecast on "Surya" T.V daily at 8.30 P.M. The serial is directed by "Martin Chalissery". I have lent my voice for matinee idol "Kalabhavan Mani" who has acted in this song sequence.

Kalpanthakalatholam: A Vidyadharan Master Classic!

"Vidhyadharan Master" has been doing music in Malayalam Cinema since the 80's. Though he has done very few films, the quality of his music is on par with the other contemporaries of his era like Johnson and Raveendran. He is from the old school of music where melody reigned supreme over cacophony. Almost all his songs have a strong classical base and were of high calibre. Right from "Kalpanthakalatholam", "Nashta Swargangale", "Chandanam Manakkunna", "Vinninte Virimaaril", "Paaduvaanay", "Swapnangalokkeyum" he has kept very high standards for himself. He has not got the accolades that he really deserved and Malayalam cinema has not used his talents fully. He is also one who never compromises on quality. Other than films he has composed music for a huge number of devotional albums and folk songs. Though not active in film music, he is still much sought for devotional albums. I had the opportunity to sing a song for one of his films and also have sung many times in his devotional albums and radio recordings. I have attempted the song “Kalpanthakalatholam” from the film “Ente Gramam” which was released in 1984.
