Yaaroon Dosti..Amazing K.K at his Best!

Krishna Kumar Menon or K.K. (as he is popularly known as) was born on August 23, 1970. This Delhi-based singer came to Mumbai some years ago in search for his career and finally, he got a call to sing a one-minute jingle for singer Leslie Lewis for UTV which kick started his career. He started singing at the age of two and was a part of his college rock band. He has sung over 3500 jingles including Monte Carlo, TVS Scooty, Amul, Britannia and Pepsi's Yeh Dil Maange More in a span of four years. His dream to sing for a Bollywood movie materialized when Vishal Bharadwaj asked him to sing "Chod Aaye Hum" in Gulzar's Maachis (1996). But what catapulted him into the big league was the wildly popular "Tadap Tadap" in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). He still speaks in chaste Malayalam, remembers the sights and sounds of downtown Kerala and believes the best way to draw inspiration for emotions is to look at the poverty and people around us.
Very few know that this son of Kerala who is now "Sharukh Khan's" Voice is from Thrissur! In fact most Malayalees do not even know that he is a Malayalee and sadly has been ignored by the Malayalee media. He also has numerous hits in Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu. His recent song "Aankhon Mai Teri" from O.S.O.M the Sharukh starrer is already a chart buster now!
This is one of his best songs from his album Pal and which appeard in the Film Rockford.

Very nice rendering. Though your voice sometimes resembles Kaykay's, yours sounds more suitable for this song.

What a beautiful song and IMHO you have sung better than the original singer! The hummings in the start and end you added were soothing and innovative. The second voice was too good! And the main difference in your version is that you have added more emotions. And your voice is immaculate and sweet.

Pradipji..great rendition (loved the use of harmonies again) of one of my fav songs of KK..'Pal' is still on top of the list of my fav indi-rock-pop albums..i thought all the songs in this album was of great standards..i guess the orginal credits of the song 'Yaaron Dosti' should be Lezz (Leslie Lewis) for music and Mehboob for lyrics?
Another nice song that i like from Rockford is 'Aasman ke paar shaayad' (sung by Shankar Mahadevan)..

Well sung, well mixed. Like someone said, your voice seems to suit the song more than KK's, although I love KK a lot.

The way you adapt your voice and singing in certain songs such as this one is really admirable. Amazing harmonies and superb recording as always.
IMO, vibrato could have been a wee bit lesser in some parts again...
This song was a treat.
