Naadamaya-Dr. Rajkumar's National Award Winning Classic!
It's been a big gap since I posted a song. In fact I had the song ready last week but due to a routing problem my site had vanished from my ISP till today! Strange isn't it? Anyway the wait has been worth. In fact my friend Rama gave me this track some months back. When I heard the track I immediately thought "oh..it would take some time to learn this song". It was a very long and tough song purely based on Carnatic Classical music and that too a "Raagamaalika" starting in "Thodi". So I kept it in abeyance for a long time and finally spend some time doing it last week. I must say that Dr. Rajkumar never ceases to amaze me! This song fetched him the National Award too! This also shows how deep his knowledge in classical music was. He really was an enigma! I was deeply touched by the pure form of Carnatic singing that he has adopted in this song. He has sung it with so much of bhava. This evidently shows that he must have learnt the nuances from a really great master! This song was really a big challenge and after singing it I indeed am relieved a lot. I leave upon you to see how far I have been able to do justice to the original version. I again would like to thank Rama and Suchin for helping me out with the words and pronunciation. I also hope Rama keeps sending me such wonderful numbers. I really enjoyed singing a song on home ground (clay can be good but grass is my home)...Hope all the Rajkumar fans do enjoy this song.Song: Naadamaya
Film: Jeevana Chaitra
Original Singer: Dr. Rajkumar
Music: Upendra Kumar
Lyrics: Chi. Udayashankar

My mouth is still open with the wow! terrific singing. You always come up with something impossible all the time. I think this is way ahead Dr. Rajkumar's version. Not flattering you but is true. Never heard anything like this.
Pradeepji, just awesome. This is classical music in pristine heavenly form. You are blessed.
Listening to you sing this song, each time has been a hair-raising experience. Truly heavenly. Way ahead of the original. Had you sung this for the film, I am sure you would have won something higher than the national award. Thank you for singing this lovely song.
i am truly loss at words....this song from you will be something i would preserve for ever with me. thank you so much. surely its professionally better than the original.
Pradip, for some reason I couldn’t post a comment on your blog, the page kept on reloading. All I can say is amazing work...keep it up you are bound to get somewhere. Your talent and efforts won’t go waste! Swati.
Wonderfully sung, Pradipji!!!! Really amazing!
Dont know if you have songs from Gaana Yogi Panchakshara Gawai, music by Hamsalekha, won him the national award.

Superb pradeepetta! No words to describe. We were waiting for something like this. This shows your authority and class beyond any doubts. All the current so called singers should take a clue from this.

Splendid....Splendid....Splendid....
This was great Pradipji.... thanks a lot.. and eagerly waiting for the next......
Thodi with a wonderful sunrise enlivened my breakfast. mohanam and hamsanandi(?) served as fine toppings. Great performance.
Superb rendition!!
Stunning..truely great work...!
Pradipetta,
I wonder how many of our present singers would attempt this kind of a song, forget perfection!
Your renditions have always been great to listen to, and this one is no exception, except that it has gone a step ahead!
Wow! Just left me breathless. You are one of those few "Singers" still "singing" songs. Wonder how many of the current singers would sing such songs. Think even no such songs are being created. Maybe thatss the problem.
Really great performance. Beautifully sung.

I am listening to this almost every day during breakfast. Triple ton against aussies in the home ground
Hi Pradepetta, I'm new to the music blog world, but not new to your voice..amazing rendition
There are very few film songs in Thodi, and this is one surely is among the best..
Can you record Aalapanam ( from movie ganam ) as well.
Regards
Rajesh
Left me breathless....
Too good Pradip sir...
I'm new to audioblogging and this is my first visit here. Really mindblowing effort! Superb rendition.
Amazing stuff dear Pradipji. This is a true tribute to the Great Legend Dr Rajkumar. I used to wonder if there would be anyone who could attempt this song. To the best of my knowledge you are the only one who could do this, with flawless rendition.
We have terribly missed you during your visit to Ram's House in Bangalore. We would like to meet you in person during your next trip to Bangalore. Till then keep posting many more numbers which we would be cherishing. Bye
This is truly divine! I have limited knowledge of classical music, but as I heard the song I really felt closer to God. Thank you for posting this. Dr. Raj is smiling from above, for sure.
Splendid! No better words to speak.. Almost equivalent to Dr. Rajkumar's voice...
U have the blessings of Rajkumar from his abode..
Fantastic Again...
Best Wishes

This is my first ever comment on the internet ever in 8 years of net surfing.
W.O.W...You are better than the best playback singer we have today.
Why are you not a playback singer? (at least not very well known, if you are)
Hats off to you. Here's wishing you all the best!
