Pularithoomanju-G.Devarajan & Kavalam-Music of the sublime kind!

Some songs hit you in the heart! The song "Pularithoomanju Thulliyil" from "Utsavappittennu" a Mohanlal starrer directed by Bharat Gopi in the 90's is such a song. Almost all songs of G. Devarajan master were masterpieces and have influenced many music directors like Johnson and Raveendran. He composed almost every genre of music for malayalam films and dramas. He was the final authority on authentic music of the sublime kind. Some never die. They live on with what they did. He lives on with his music. This song will always remain very dear to my heart. I present this song with all my respect to the master!
  • Song: Pularithoomanju Thulliyil
  • Film: Utsavappittennu
  • Music: G.Devarajan
  • Lyrics: Kavalam Narayana Panikker
  • Original Singer: K.J Yesudas

Like many other malayalam songs, hearing this for the 1st time!!

Very nicely rendered. Your voice flows extremely smoothly which is the envy of any singer I suppose :)

Wow! What a song...soul stirring pathos...in the late 1980s when I was in St. Joseph's College (IJK) hostel, the nuns did not allow us to use the radio or tape recorders in our rooms. But in some nearby residence they used to play this song once in a while..We could only hear it very faintly...I was a very homesick hosteller and this song always had a cathartic effect. Thanks Pradip for singing it so wonderfully!

Pradip, a minor correction - this was written by Kavalam, and not by ONV, if I recall correctly.
