Beladingalaagi Baa-My First Kannada Song Post

Dr. Rajkumar who was referred to as Annavru (big brother) by millions of his fans, acted in more than 200 movies over 50 years in Kannada. Most of his movies became great epic films in Kannada film industry. He was also a well-known playback singer. He also has won the National Award for the song "Naadamaya" from the movie Jeevana Chaitra. Rajkumar however, did not become a full fledged singer until his hugely popular song Yare Koogadali from the movie Sampathige Sawal. Prior to his singing in Sampathige Sawal, Rajkumar's songs were sung by Dr. P B Shrinivas. Blessed with a good voice which was laden in bhaava he excelled in singing all types of songs from romantic to heavily classical. After Yare Koogadali he sang for most of his movies and for many private albums which were mainly devotional albums. His song renditions would range from pure classical to disco and fast numbers to pathos.
Here I present a beautiful song Beladingalaagi Baa which clearly showas how well trained he was in carnatic music too! I am extremely thankful to my ORKUT friend Rama Iyer who took the pains to send the original song, the karaoke and the lyrics. I also appreciate her song selection. What a beautiful song it is! She also helped me with the pronounciation. This is also my first attempt at singing a Kannada song!

Hi Pradip..that was just fabulous. You captured every nuance and emotion of Dr. Raj and most striking part was that your kannada pronounciation was spotless. You have this uncanny knack of singing every language without accent. Expecting more kannada songs from you.
Awesome rendition.Your voice resembles P.B Srinivas. Why dont you sing in Kannada films too? Your accent is so natural unlike those hindi singers who spoil our mother tongue and music.
Happy New Year to you and well sung as usual :)
I was reminded of a couple of other numbers by SPB while listening to this, very soothing song this, had never heard it before..
Pradipetta, never heard the song before, but its a wonderful song and you have emoted it very nicely. This song reminds of me of the Hindi song "Ghar Se Nikalthi" from the movie Papa Kehtain Hain. :-)

fantastic, awesome!!! Am speechless.Your capabilities are limitless and you spring up a surprise every now and then. This makes your music blog so different from others.
Nice one Pradip. It is so true that music has no language. I enjoyed the song very much even though I didn't understand a single word of it. Very soothing song. Well done Pradip.
Remarkable singing Pradip.Enjoyed the song.Your Kannada pronounciation and accent is as good as any other language that you sing in.Please sing songs of Jesudas and S.P Bala too.
Absolutely marvellous pradeepetta.Your ability to sing in any language with good diction and style is unbelievable! Your song slection is also good. G.K.V was a master composer in Kannada and he was able to take maximum advantage of Rajkumar the singer in many songs even though Rajkumar was not technically a perfect singer as P.B.S or S.P.B for that matter.
Excellent rendition...
Even the slang in the voice reflects kannadiga..superb
expecting more songs..keep blogging..happy blogging!
pradip, i dont understand much of kannada words, but still i enjoyed this one. this is a real melody..
thanks for posting this.
Beautiful rendering of the song. Excellent as always. A very good selection of the song with a slight classical touch. Waiting to hear more...
This is one of my most favorite songs in kannada. Very musical and beautifully sung by Rajkumar first and ofcourse by you. You have tried and brought out the beauty and the places you sing ...valava... seems like you are a kannadiga and it is tough to believe you do not know the language to get the slang so well. Great importance has been given to detail in the song. Please sing some more popular kannada ones. Thanks,
This is wonderful. :)
Asusual, no mistakes can be found in sur and taal even when searched thoroughly. :D
Superb rendition.
Please sing more Kannada songs.
Thumba chenakithe...
