Photographer-Johnson restores some sanity in Malayalam Music!

Today malayalam Music is moving to insanity and mediocrity! In these times music from films such as "Photographer" are a big relief! It was also so good to see Johnson make a comeback. Even though the film did very badly at the box office, the songs yet again proved what we have lost today. Melody and talent! When you hear Dasettan's voice in this film we realise that even though he is 64 all the other singers just fade away in front of his Gandharva Naadam! When you hear his voice you do not feel like listening to any of the other singers today. Such is the mesmerising charm of his voice. Johnson once again proves that he is the master of melody and simplicity and no amount of sampled music can replace simple arrangements and original instruments in a song. Life seems to have come back to music when we hear the songs of Photographer. Johnson who was inspired to the film world by the late Devarajan Master has assisted the late A.T Ummer and M.K Arjunan Master other than Devarajan Master. His first film was Aaravam in 1978.He has won the National award two times and the state award five times. Who would forget songs like Kanneer Poovinte, Madhuram Jeevamritha Bindu and Maouname? I had the good fortune to sing many tracks for him and later sang two good songs in "Manasam" a Dileep Starrer in 1998.
I have tried to sing the melodious song "Enthe Kannanu Karuppu Niram" from Photographer.

Song: Enthe Kannanu Karuppu Niram

That was a superlative effort. Your Voice is so rich in bhavaam and perfect. Such an effortless singing! Think you and Madhu Balakrishnan are the only singer in the category of Yesudas and Jayachandran wo have so much depth in their voice.I could not make out any difference in this track and the original. For a moment I thought it was the original!

This is a cute song and you have sung it so beautifully! This is a comeback song from the great Johnson. Hope we will get more like "Anuraagini ithayen", Devanganangal, Devi Aathmaragam etc from him.

Hi,
That was superb! I had, in fact, sent the lyrics to Vidyu, to hear Manjari's version.
The song is set to be a hit amongst music lovers , thanks to its simplicity - in lyrics and musical arrangement.

pradipji your voice glides through the song smoothly. The only difference in this version and the original is that two different people have sung it.I will give 10/10 for this perfect rendition. Also your voice resembles a younger Yesudas which makes it more likeable.Give us more of such songs.

pradipji, i'm totally spellbound by your rendition. its been a long time since i heard such a wonderful malayalam song. somehow i couldnt stop thinking about 'yashomati mayya se' while listening to this song. The right amt of expressions you give to every song is just amazing.

wonder why kaithrapram came up with a word 'shyama raadhe', if he meant 'shayam's radha' then it looks fine else 'shyama' means dark which doesnt suit the legandary description of radha at all.

emotive singing is your forte. Once again you have done full justice to the song. Your voice gives all the depth to the emotions. Many of the younger generation singers lack emotion in their singing. Some like Vineeth Sreenivasan sing as a rock but the foolish mallu audience keeps quiet. Strange.
