Pramadavanam-Tribute To Ravindran-Part-V

Many of the music lovers had requested for the song "Kudajadriyil". Since I could not find a Karaoke track for it, I have sung another devotional song which is as beautiful and is very popular in Kerala. Yesterday, when I sang it at "Urakam" Temple for my program, the audience started clapping even as I was singing the first virutham! This shows how deeply the masses adored and loved "Ravindran" master! I present this song on the occasion of "Vijayadasami". The song is again from a Mohanlal starrer, Kizhakkunarum Pakshi.

Song: Sowparnikamritha
Film: Kizhakkunarum Pakshi
Originally sung by: Dr. K.J Yesudas
Music Director: Ravindran

Very nice!!
I'm curious about one thing-that shake in your voice as you end lines (similar to KJY's)-is it natural or intended? (Have always wondered about this characteristic of KJY's singing too...)

Sindhuja, If you hear all the greats right from those in Hindi like Talat, Mannadey, Kishore, Rafi, Lataji, to P.B.S, TMS, many have used the tremolo effect in their voices to good effect to blend the voice with the instruments in background especially at the line endings. But if you hear all my songs you will find that this is not used in all songs. I use it only in specific songs depending on the type of song and modulation required. If you hear some of my original songs like ennakkaruppin you will know what I mean...So this is not a regular thing that I do for all songs.
