Kumari - Anyan - Harris Jayaraj & Shanker Mahadevan Magic!

Am again experimenting myself by treading into foreign lands! This time I try this beautiful song Kumari from the superhit film Anyan sung by another astounding allrounder Shanker Mahadevan. His singing leaves us breathless.
Beautifully picturised, this song always has us glued to our TV screens whenever it is shown. This song is vintage Harris Jayaraj and shows his class as a composer.

Mind blowing rendition pradipji! I like your voice better than shankar mahadevan in this song. It's more refined.I am amazed how you sing songs of such varied variety! Super!!!!

Pradip,

Absolutely wonderful!

A few things that I noticed as against the original. Again-- don't know if it was intended (-:

The first Kumari set will have a 2nd voice coming in the BG and also the chorus (senjaanae in the BG as the initial kumari ends) Guess I was kinda expecting it!!

Also-- the 3rd line has been rendered as "en vaarthai kadal *vetri* vittadhae" as against being vatri(meaning my ocean of words has dried up seeing u)

Apart from these-- brilliant rendition. You have managed to keep your style intact.. Kudos!!

Pradeep, your rendition is just fantastic. You have such a fabulous powerful voice full of emotion and technical excellence.Throughout the song you have sung it in your own voice which makes it more special. Expecting more songs in your own voice like this one.

I noticed that in the original shanker version, he is off pitch at many places. but you are perfect in every sense. your voice is even better.why is that in spite of so many software gizmos to correct your voice still such glaring pitch variations remain in the singing of the so called great singers? don't you think this exposes such myths of singers?

Pradip
I have been a regular visitor to you blog for the past two weeks since I got introduced to BLS2.

Some of your songs here are fabulous (for lack of a better word).

This song in particular is not an easy one and you have done very well.

How long did you practice before getting this right?

If you visit my blog, you will know the reason for my question, cos I struggled with a classical song for a while and still did not get anywhere near ok.
