Vizhiyil Vizhunthu- Illayaraja's Early Gem!
Meera Manohar needs no introduction to the audio blogger's world. She is an amazing singer with a trademark lazy elegance to her singing, unique voice and style. When she gave me this song and asked me to sing the male portion, I was very happy to agree immediately. Since the male portion was small, I finished singing and mixing the track yesterday night itself. I do admit that I have not sung as raw and hard as I.R, since I could not match his voice. But I have tried my best. But the whole show belongs to "Meera" who has given this song a whole new fresh feel. My role here is only as a "Sabji" in a grand full course meal as commented by Murali on her blog! "I can never forget to mention "Murali Venkatraman's" Karaoke track. Murali, kudos for the track. BTW also happened to listen to kannalae kaadahal-I've felt this before, but in this one your voice sounds unbelievably similar to KJY's!!
This is one of my favorite songs. Fell for it the very first time I listened to it ! Don't know if it was the tune or the singing or the words.

Meera has come back with a bang. Wonderfully sung. Ably supported by you ( Better than IR IMHO). Very nice Karaoke work by Murali ( one observation - The Mridangam sound lacks base!)

Wow! Illayaraja is truly a sea captain of composition. The rhythm in "Oru chiri kandal" song from the film "Ponmudippuzhayorathu" is one very captivating bit.
As you have said, this piece was rendered bewitchingly by Meera. Kudos to both of you.

Excellent. Have you heard a song sung by Illayaraja in the movie Puthupattu. Very fast paced and flamboyant song. Have heard it about 15 years ago. Had the cassette with me. But lost it. If you know the song can you please sing it? I don't even remember the lyrics...
