Remembering Sachin Kaitharam!

Today I woke up to hear about a terrible Car accident which resulted in the tragic death of my friend & upcoming music director and talented Flute Player Sachin Kaitharam. He was travelling from Trivandrum to Ernakulam after a program of Jassie Gift. Jassie's manager was driving the Scorpio and they picked up Sachin from a bus stop where he was waiting for the bus! The driver escaped but both Sachin & his friend who were at the back did not escape cruel fate!
This has shaken me completely, as I still remember him calling me many times over the phone and asking me"Pradeepetta, I did a song for a serial...please listen to it".
I am just back after bidding him farewell from where his body was kept for public view in the MACTA office at Ernakulam.. He was just 34 and was married just a few months back....What a fate!
I offer my tributes to him by this song for which he played flute . The song was recorded by the "Art Of Living Foundation" for Guruji's Kerala Visit and was written & set to music by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri.

57) Darsanam Sudarsanam- Lyrics & Music by Kaithapram

Hmm..the flute play is just spell binding..Mohanam oozing through an artist of high caliber as I can see. Being a novice composer who favors flute in most of my compositions, I really feel bad that such a terrible end should come upon such a good artist. My sincere heartfelt condolences to the demise of your artis-friend.

When a friend dies, it is a personal void. When an artist dies, it is a void as big as a meteoric hit in the field of art.. May his soul which is entrapped in his works, rest in peace.

Very sad to hear the tragic end of Mr.Sachin. God is cruel I feel. 34 years is not the age to die.

The song is awesome. The ending where there is a lot of flute..brought tears.

God bless his soul!

Hi Pradip,
Had seen the news on the telly. Hauntingly melodious rendition by Sachin Kaitharam. One more soul needlessly lost on the highways!

May his soul rest in peace!

Thank you for this musical tribute to a fine artist.

Life is very unpredictable and cruel too at times.

Can't think about his dear and near ones' situation. What can be done , other than remembering them in our prayers .

Dear Pradeep I don know u personally but very much otherwise......but there was one guy who was very close to me, that was my sachin chettan.......Kerala film industry has lost one of it's future superhero....he was really awesome. not only was he an unbeleivable artist with the flute......He used to sing very well and also had a great sense of music. He even wrote and composed a song for me on my request which i sang for a light music competition.i will try to send it to the site.......it is just out of the world. i met him last in his wedding. Still am not willing to accept his demise......would like to beleive he is still with us in his music.

Just day before yesterday... I was enjoying your song on your blogswara totally being unmindful that you had just returned after seeing your artist friend who died in terrible Car Crash.

This is just making me think how susceptible and vulnerable life is. I feel sorry for his family and his friends who have taken grief.

A good musician is irreplacable, no matter how many equally good or better musicians crop up.

Wish you, his near & dear ones, and his fans are bestowed with the strength to bear his memories and rejoice the wonderful music he has left behind!

*Peace*

Pls. accept my condolences. I know it's painful to lose a young friend... I lost my cousin who was 26 at the time.

We must trust God all the more at times like these instead of wondering where He is or proclaiming Him cruel. His ways are not our ways... perhaps your friend was just too close to God's heart for him to be separated anymore.

Whatever the thing, you be strong. May God be with you & with his family.

Reji,

I wrote this on the very day after I saw his body at Ernakulam! So I wrote this based on the information that I got from some of his friends there. Also I was more concerned about the loss of a good artist than search for such finer aspects like where he was picked up! Even the press reporters gave different stories! So who am I? I was not in a reporter's frame of mind when I wrote that! Also words like nonsense should not be used...mind your words. We have lost a great artist and that's all that counts for me!
