New Duet Song With Vidyu Posted!
Thanks to Joe, I came to know this wonderful singer from the U.S. She is a bundle of talent and energy as you will all see. We have been working on this song since a week now and the results are here to see. I am really awestruck by the versatility of Vidyu. She was telling me that Tamil was the least comfortable for her compared to Hindi and Malayalam. But see for yourselves what result she has achieved! Yes it has become so unique in her voice. This song "Nee Paathi Naan Paathi" is one of my most favorite songs from "Keladi Kanmani" . Here Illaiyaraja is in his best elements as a composer. I once again am in admiration for the team of Vidyu and her husband for spending so much of their valuable time to make this song count. Vidyu surely deserves to be singing in films. I think I am going over the bridge...So folks listen and enjoy this melodious song! We have given our best shot. Still if there is anything lacking please forgive us as it would be only because we are not the Ganagandharvan Yesudas and Uma Ramanan singing in front of the maestro Illaiyaraja! That's our excuse.
The song number is 33 in the playlist.

Oh!! that was really wonderful....
Glad to hear the originality in both your renditions!
Pradeep
As you said Vidyu is amazing with her clear rendition and diction.
Just like your hindi and tamil diction :)
Masteros golden days - beautiful melody based on chakravagam.
With the present day and age melodies doesn't seem to have much place (commercial market drives and dictates the art)sad.
Let me make a trite stmt:
"you both have done very well".
Vidyu - you have a delectable mallu accent in tamil. Since I am a chitra worshipper, I liked it very much.
Pradip - has no accent. very nice.
BTW, there is one observation about vidyu's voice. This applies for most of her songs. Since your voice is a little thin, I sugggest you increase your track volume while mixing the song. This will help your voice sound with more strength.
Dear Pradip,
That was really fantastic..!
Both of you performed very well and it is a wonderful experience to listen to this song.
My best wishes.
James.
Fascinating job Pradeep. Your voice kinda sounds like SPB's in his hay days.
Did Vidyu say that she was least comfortable with tamil? None would've questioned or even thought of her diction being different. Wonderful.
Pradip

May be someday , I will have my own music-blog like you :-)

Nee pathi, naan pathi is one of my favourites. Couple of things, the karoke track is very close to the original - or it is the original ?. The final mix is also very good, nice balance. What software/hardware do you use ?
Dear Prem,
I use Rode NT2 as my mic, Aardvark 24/96 as my sound
card and use Nuendo for tracks. The track I used is not an original but is a
karaoke version I got from the web. I also used some plugins for correcting
and smoothening my tracks. I have tried to duplicate the feel of the
original voice tracks! Have also used reverb, echo, and some eq on the tracks ..
Pradip
